Many stroke survivors receive limited support with their rehabilitation once they have left hospital and it is often difficult for these individuals to find the necessary motivation to engage fully with the physical exercises that have been recommended to them. New approaches that embed physiotherapy exercises within an engaging framework may be more motivating for stroke survivors. We aim to research and develop digital musical instruments (DMIs) to help engage stroke survivors with their rehabilitation with a strong user centred design alongside feedback and support from health professionals.
